What is Descriptive Analytics?
Descriptive Analytics tells you what happened in the past. As the term suggests, its purpose is to describe.
With descriptive analytics you get a view at the data. You do this in order to illustrate what is going on. Or, what has happened in the past. You can do this with different forms of data visualisations, such as graphs, charts, reports, or dashboards. It is simply an illustration of the data.
You can read more about other types of analytics, such as diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive.
